| What's keeping you here?
Friends move on in life, costs keep skyrocketing, work environment changes, buildings get torn down, work life balance is questionable. What is it that anchors you here? Is it memories, hope, dreams, food (hahah I'm sure it's a reason for some), familiarity, family or.. ?
Or, perhaps, what's pushing you away?
Finding out what it means to be Singaporean.
P.S. 'A job' isn't a very compelling reason la. :p

| Was at Borders recently and as I was going through a rack of new titles, a name popped up. Once on the cover, and twice as echoes in my head. Which is fine as an afterthought, except that the last names had changed.
Neil Strauss. Neil Gaiman. Neil Armstrong.
Heck, even my ex boss has the same first name. Which led me to think - are certain names destined for greatness more so than others? Or do certain names just resonate better with people and sneakily creep their way into people's subconscious, and hence, general prominence?
Michael Jackson. Michael Douglas. Michael J. Fox Michael Jordan Michael Buble Michael Keaton Michaelangelo
Sure, some may say that the more common names would, by default, belong to more people and thus have increased chances of belonging to well-known figures. But think about it. How many famous people do you know are a Robert? Or Alice? Peter? Henry? Evon?
And yet, some names are just fused to bigger things. Some names just conjure up images of renowned, if not great, people without you breaking a sweat. Think John. William. George. Michelle. Sharon. Stephen. Jessica. Elizabeth. Lisa. Amy. Chris. James. Harry.
